Gorgeous plum lipstick

Haha- funny face! It's hard to photograph the colour properly!

Crappy packaging though! This is pretty new and looks so scraped. And I hate price stickers that don't come off cleanly.

I love the trend for purple lips at the moment. When the live shows of X Factor began, I started lusting after Belle-Amie style lippies. I had a hunt around and found Maybelline Color Sensational in Midnight Plum- a more subtle, wearable shade that really works for me. I love the finish of these lipsticks- soft, moisturising and with a slight sheen.
Also from the Color Sensational range, I love this pink, Pink Punch.

A short one about cheap lipgloss

A few weeks ago, in spite of owning far too much makeup, I felt the need to buy some new lipgloss. Luckily I was quite skint so didn't end up with Lancome or MAC (though I never buy MAC lipgloss, to be fair)! Instead I popped into Boots and had a look at lower end makeup. There was a 3 for 2 offer on Collection 2000 so it seemed rude not to! My sister got one and I got the other two.

Although incredibly gimmicky, Hotlights is just a regular run of the mill gloss. It's not incredibly pigmented but that's kind of a plus in my book as it matches with more lipsticks. Neither is it vilely sticky and gloopy, which is something I can't bear. As you can see from the pictures, the colours are inoffensive but pretty enough to bring some shine to your lipsticks or just polishing up a daytime minimal look. The light and mirror aspect is not something that would make me rush out to buy it but I'm sure it appeals to some younger girls! So, if you see these on offer again, they're worth trying out .

Weekend makeup/ San Sebastian pics

This is a look from Friday. The daylight/ no flash pics don't show how dark it actually was on the eyes. Usually with red lips I go easy on the eyes but I got carried away and this was the result. Strangely though, I like it especially because I was kinda dressed down. The smoky eyes/ dark lips thing is usually paired with an elegant evening dress or something so I like the contrast.

I used Makeup Forever HD foundation, Rimmel concealer, Milani Luminous blush

Etude House powder fix eyebrow pencil,
Urban Decay Primer Potion, 88 e/s color palette (not the shimmer one), Rimmel Exaggerage liquid liner, Gosh black kohl, Etude Black x Black mascara

NYX Hebe round lipstick (I am in LOVE)
NYX lipliner in Caberet

The next day I was out and about in San Sebastian and went for the same eye shadow with a little less liner, no blush and MAC Angel on my lips.

That night I was very lazy and just topped up my liner, popped on false lashes, added my Milani blush and Hebe lipstick and was good to go!! Although this time I dressed up a little!!
These pics show the deterioration of my makeup over the hours. Check out the shine and redness in the last one! Don't know if I can fault the MUFE foundation though because it was damn hot and we were dancing!

We went out on Thursday too and our friend Matt missed his train to Barcelona in the morning cos he was hung over as hell!!! He called to ours before going to get a later train. Would you know he was hurtin'?!!!

I love 3 day weekends!! Life is goooooood!!
